# Tips and frequent problems

#### Capacity

Before starting any treatment of your pool, you must know what your capacity is. In this way, you can calculate exactly the doses of chemical products that must be added to the water.
• Determine the average depth: Maximum depth (m) + Minimum depth (m) / 2 = Average depth
• Determine the volume of your pool:
Rectangular or square pool: Length (m) x Width (m) x Depth Average (m) = Volume (m³)
Oval pool: Length (m) x Width (m) x Depth Average (m) x 0.8 = Volume (m³)
Circular Pool: Length (m) x Width (m) x Depth Average (m) x 0.8 = Volume (m³)

#### Start up

Cleaning the Glass
Once the pool has been emptied, we will proceed to clean the glass, we will use the super concentrated cleaner “NS-900” for a thorough cleaning of the inlays or the “PX-911” cleaner. To do this we will use a sprinkler or fumigator spraying the whole surface without rubbing the pool and letting it act for 10 minutes. Then rinse with the pressure hose.

For the cleaning of accessories, showers and common areas we will use “PX-2000”, a non-corrosive descaling cleaner of great power.

Cleaning the circuit and filter

After a winter without treating the pool, it is necessary to clean the filter and the circuit to quickly eliminate all the algae and dirt accumulated in them and thus avoid that they pass to the glass of the pool already clean, thus we maintain a look of the water Transparent and crystalline.

For the sand filter, we must check the state and level of the sands and if there are inlays we must clean it with suitable chemicals.

With empty pool

Add to the glass, enough water for the purifier does not work in vacuum and then add 1 bottle of 25 Kg/100m ³ “CF-300 descaling circuit”. We put the purification plant in filtration and let it act for 30 minutes, then open the drain and rinse the glass of the pool with a pressure hose.

With the pool full of clean water

The cleaning of the filter will be done as follows: Open the cover of the sand filter, add 1 bottle of 25 Kg/100m ³ “CF-300 descaling circuit”. We let it act for 4 or 5 hours, then close the filter and put the skimmer in its wash function of the filter for 1 minute.

Regulation and control equipment

We must also check the operation of the regulation and control equipment, since its operation guarantees a good quality of the pool water. That’s why we have to check the status of the metering pumps, the probes and the control panels.
It is also advisable to check that the readings are correct and have a good calibration, especially during the first days.

Filling the pool

Once clean circuit, filter and glass, we can fill the pool.

#### Shock treatment

Shock treatment

We put the debugger in motion to proceed to the following operations

The first thing we should do when we are going to prepare our pool for the bathroom is to adjust the PH. The PH is a very important value because the action of chlorine depends on it and therefore the state of the water and the satisfaction of the users are also at stake.

The Ph measures the acidity or alkalinity, with the analysis KIT we see the levels of chlorine and Ph that the water has initially. If the Ph is out of the ideal parameters (7.2 to 7.6) we will have to adjust it with our Ph regulators, “BH-400 Ph reducer” or “SH-600 Ph lift”.

Dose of algaecide

Once the PH is adjusted we must incorporate a dose of algaecide/bactericide, for this we can use our product “AG-500 algaecide super concentrated” with 2 liters per
100m ³.

Chlorination

For this we can use a complete product like “PISCINIL-CLORIX Maintenance/treatment” in a proportion of 2kg per 100m ³ if it is an indoor swimming pool. In the case of outdoor swimming pool, if it is a shock treatment for unwintered water we will add 10kg per 100m ³, instead we will add 8kg/100m ³ If it is a shock treatment by storms or massive influx of people.

Warning: Chemicals should always be added to the water with the skimmer running, leaving a time interval between them to avoid possible reactions when mixing!

#### Maintenance

It consists in keeping the water crystal clear, as well as the chlorine and pH at their ideal values. To achieve this we need:

Everyday:

• To purify the water the necessary hours depending on the use of the pool, taking into account that if one day there were no bathers in the pool, the treatment plant should work at least 8 hours.
• Analyze the pH of the water to keep it at its ideal value, thus achieving greater efficiency in the use of chlorine.
• Analyze the residual chlorine of the water keeping it at its ideal value.
• Pass the pool cleaner to eliminate all the regimented dirt.

Weekly:

• Add a contribution of “AG-500 super concentrated algaecide” of 0.5 liters per 50 m³ of water.
• Clean the profilers (baskets) of skimmers and pump of the purifier.
• Wash the sand filter by inverting the water circuit for 2 or 3 minutes.
• Check the water level in the pool, filling it to prevent air from entering the sewage treatment plant.
• Brush the walls and clean the bottom with manual or automatic cleaning equipment.

Whenever water is added to the pool, you should analyze the pH and chlorine values after one hour of having made the extra water contribution. When there is a risk of rain, the level of chlorine and anti-algae must rise above the usual levels.

#### Swimming pool stop in winter season

Once the bathing season is over if you do not wish to maintain water by chlorination, you must use the “PISCINIL-2 Winter” hibernator to conserve crystalline water without regular maintenance, without energy costs and with little cleaning effort in the Reopening.

We proceed as follows:

• At the end of the bathing season and with the water in good condition and without algae, keep an active chlorine content less than 0.5 ppm in the water.
• Adjust the PH of the water between 7.2 – 7.6, trying not to exceed these values.
• Add Piscinil-2 to the entire perimeter of the pool and run the skimmer long enough for proper product distribution.

Dosage:

Add 10 Kg of Piscinil-2 for each 100m3 of water to be treated. Add half a dose in January.

#### Murky water

Symptoms

Murky waters tend to look whitish.

Causes

Turbidity may appear for several reasons: High or misaligned PH, filtration system problems, and small suspended particles.

Treatment

• Poor filtration or filter problems: Check the filter’s correct condition, wash it and if necessary increase the filtering time.
• High and/or misaligned Ph: analyze and adjust the Ph between the optimum values, 7.2 and 7.6, with the Ph regulator and reducer BH-400.
• Existence of small particles in suspension: we must clarify the water by helping a flocculants, for this we add Pisciclar Plus with the stop treatment plant. Once all the organic matter has been sedimented, we will pass the cleaner to the pool and if the dirt is too large, we’ll drive the suction flow directly to the drain.

#### Colored water

Symptoms and causes

The coloration of the water can be caused by a turbid water (whitish color), by the presence of iron or manganese (brown color) and by the formation of algae (green color).

Treatment

Whitish: Due to turbidity. Solution: See previous section.

Brown: It is due to the presence of iron and manganese. We must adjust the PH at its optimum values, 7.2 – 7.6, with the controllers BH-400 or SH-600.

Add 5 ppm of chlorine with a super concentrated and fast dissolving product such as Piscinil Clorix. Then we will check the concentration of chlorine with the analysis kit and make a clarification of the water with the Flocculants Pisciclar Plus.

After 10 hours, the water will be clean and the bottom will have received sedimentation. Pass The Cleaner by sending the vacuumed water directly to the drain.

Green: by formation of algae. Act quickly because the longer they are present the more it will cost to eliminate them.

Do a shock chlorination with a super-concentrated and fast-dissolving product such as Piscinil Clorix, until 4 to 5 ppm of free chlorine is obtained. Start the filtration system. At 30 minutes, add the Algaecide AG-500, in a proportion of 10 gr per m³. Allow the products to operate for 8 hours and if necessary, brush the remaining glued in walls and then pass the cleaner.

#### Chlorine smell

Symptoms

Itching and irritation to the eyes and itching of the skin when immersed in the water and a strong smell of chlorine in the pool.

Causes

It may be the result of the presence in combined chlorine water (chloramines), a misaligned PH, above or below optimal levels, 7.2 and 7.6.

Treatment

Adjust the PH at its optimum values (7.2 – 7.6) with the controllers BH-400 or SH-600. Then perform the shock treatment with Clorix-55, dissolve the product in a bucket of clean water and add over the delivery mouths.

#### Foam formation

Symptoms and causes

The appearance of foam in the water is caused by agitation as well as by the introduction of substances such as tanning lotions, body fats, or detergents that take bathers in your body or bathing suit.

Treatment

Use our antifoam, incorporate directly or diluted in water.

#### Algae in the pool

Symptoms

Some of the symptoms that the pool has algae are colored water, slippery surfaces and murky water.

Causes

The algae can appear by the oscillation of the temperatures, by not having sufficient cleanliness or by having unfavorable atmospheric conditions.

Treatment

Act quickly because the longer they are present the more it will cost to eliminate them. Do a shock chlorination with a super-concentrated and fast-dissolving product such as Piscinil-Clorix, until 4 to 5 ppm of free chlorine is obtained. Start the filtration system.
At 30 minutes, add algaecide AG-500, 10 gr per m³. Allow the products to operate for 8 hours and if necessary, brush the remaining glued in walls and then pass the cleaner.

#### Calcareous incrustations

Symptoms

The appearance of calcareous deposits in the pool fixtures and on the walls have a whitish appearance.

Causes

These occurrences may be due to a poorly adjusted pH level.

Treatment

Adjust the PH between 7.2 and 7,6 y then add the descaling cleaner NS-900 to the pool bowl by sections, if necessary, help yourself with a brush. Leave to act and rinse with pressurized water.

#### Metallic corrosions

Symptoms

Oxidation of the metal parts of the pool.

Causes

It can be caused by salt water.

Treatment

Spray the pool glass in sections with PX-2000, if it is necessary to help a brush to extend the product. Let it act for a few minutes and rinse with pressurized water.

#### Dark spots on the waterline

Symptoms and causes

Some creams, especially those with a high protection factor, have chemical compounds such as titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, which when they come into contact with chlorine (or other oxidants) produce yellowish compounds.

Yellowish compounds accumulate in areas where the water velocity is lower, such as the waterline in skimmer pools and in some areas of the grid in the case of overflow pools.

Treatment

For the removal of stains on the waterline and grids, the effective solution is the cleaning with reinforced degreasing LINEO.

For a more comfortable and quick use, we recommend using the Lineo XP power brush.

Symptoms and Causes

The concern for the effects of the sun on the skin is increasing, this translates into a greater use of sunscreen. All solar creams, when contacted with pool water, float and do not mix with water as fats or oils, this has several effects as accumulation in areas of less movement of water and appearance of oily veils on the surface of the water.

In people, the creams in contact with the water of the pool drain towards the bathing suits where they are absorbed, with the effect of appearance of yellowish spots and modification of the colors.

Treatment

To inform and recommend to the swimmers that they use sunscreen without titanium oxides or zinc, choosing another type of sunscreen.
For the removal of stains on the waterline and grids, the effective solution is the cleaning with reinforced degreasing LINEO . For a more comfortable and quick use, we recommend using the Lineo XP power brush.

#### Stains on the walls

Symptoms and Causes

The stains on the walls are the result of the presence of metal ions.

Treatment

Empty the pool and clean the stains with a surface descaling agent such as the NS-900. Spray the pool glass in sections, if necessary, help with a brush to extend the product. Let it act for a few minutes and rinse with pressurized water.

#### Efficient waste Management

Make proper management of depositing containers at the recovery and recycling point enabled by your local entity.
In this way it will make the impact on the environment as small as possible.

#### Storage

Store closed the product in its original container. Protect from high temperatures.

In order to avoid hazards, follow the instructions in the Product Safety information sheet.
